At Safeguarding Services, Sean undertakes independent workplace and reportable conduct investigations, bringing a rigorous, fair and balanced approach to matters involving safeguarding, misconduct and compliance.
Sean began his investigative career in law enforcement, serving as a sworn officer with the Australian Federal Police from 2013 to 2017. During this time, he worked within Crime Operations and the Fraud and Anti-Corruption Team in Melbourne, and was also sworn in as a Special Constable with Victoria Police.
Following his policing career, Sean joined the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT), where he worked as an Investigator and later Senior Investigator from 2017 to 2022, including a period as Acting Investigations Manager.
In this role, Sean conducted complex investigations into professional misconduct, regulatory compliance and safeguarding matters, often involving sensitive allegations and high levels of procedural scrutiny.
Sean contributes to investigative practice through his work on complex matters that require high standards of procedural fairness, evidence assessment and regulatory compliance.
He brings a considered, methodical perspective to investigations and supports organisations to understand investigative processes and outcomes in a clear and defensible manner.

Sean has extensive experience conducting investigations across education and faith-based settings. His work includes:
- Independent reportable conduct investigations for schools and child-related organisations
- Workplace investigations involving allegations of misconduct, boundary breaches and regulatory non-compliance
- Regulatory investigations into professional standards and fitness-to-practise matters
- Fraud and corruption investigations within complex organisational environments
His background enables him to navigate investigations that require careful balancing of legal obligations, evidentiary standards and trauma-informed practice.
