Sid Steger is an experienced investigator and former Australian Federal Police detective with more than 13 years' experience conducting complex investigations involving workplace misconduct, reportable conduct and serious criminal allegations.
At Safeguarding Services, Sid conducts independent workplace and safeguarding investigations, applying a methodical, evidence-based approach to matters involving professional standards, child safety and organisational integrity.
Sid’s investigative career began with the Australian Federal Police, where he served as a detective investigating serious and complex criminal matters. During his policing career, he developed extensive experience in investigative planning, evidence gathering, interviewing witnesses and preparing matters for legal and regulatory processes.
Since transitioning into safeguarding and workplace investigations, Sid has continued to investigate sensitive matters involving reportable conduct, historical abuse and serious misconduct. His approach combines investigative rigour with procedural fairness, ensuring every investigation is conducted objectively, professionally and with respect for all parties involved.
His experience in managing complex and high-risk investigations enables organisations to respond confidently to difficult situations while meeting their legal and governance obligations.
