Child Safe Standard 4 – Induction Training
Section 10(6) of Ministerial Order 870 states:
The school must ensure that appropriate supervision and support arrangements are in place in relation to:
- the induction of new school staff into the school’s policies, codes, practices, and procedures governing child safety and child-connected work.
Safeguarding Services conducts induction training programs for new school staff, new contractors and new volunteers to assist in meeting the requirements of Standard 4.
‘School staff’ means:
- in a Government school – school employees, teachers, volunteers and contractors; and
- in a non-Government school – school employees, teachers, volunteers, contractors and ministers of religion (including priests).
